China's new national standard "Safety and Multimodal Transport Technical Requirements for Power Lithium Battery Transportation" will be implemented from February 1, 2026, according to CCTV reports.

This standard specifies the classification and grading of power lithium battery transportation, as well as requirements for transport packaging, consignment, loading and unloading, temporary storage, multimodal transport, and emergency handling.
