US President Donald Trump is set to sign a new executive order on Thursday (31st) to impose higher tariffs on countries and regions that fail to reach trade agreements by the deadline of Friday (August 1st), Politico reported, citing White House officials.

It is understood that some of the US' largest trading partners, including Canada, Mexico, and Taiwan, could be among the targets of Trump's executive order.
